We received Jewel because her owner was moving and didn't want the dog anymore. She was not housebroken and had been wearing diapers for 3 years!
The owner had taken Jewel to the vet but refused to let them take an x-ray of her to figure out why she had bladder problems. We took her straight to the vet and they found two very large bladder stones that needed to be promptly removed. We put Jewel on antibiotics for two days then took her to have the surgery to remove the bladder stones.
We are happy to report Jewel is now fine, and, in addition, has learned to go outside to go to the bathroom (it only took her two days!). Her veterinarian bills were over $700 but she was worth it.
Jewel is now in a new home and has been a perfect angel. |
