Gizmo came from a person that had him only for a week and their relationship didn't work out.
After receiving Gizmo, we had him neutered and checked out and everything seemed ok.
About a month later, though, Gizmo developed an eye ulcer that became very bad. So bad, in fact, that it was on the verge of rupturing as swollen as it was. We had to carry him and protect his eye for 3 days so he wouldn't bump it. We also had to administer eye drops and salve every two hours, 24 hours a day to try to get the swelling down in the days leading up to the surgery. In the end, though, the surgery worked out fine and Gizmo now has sight in the eye again.
Gizmo was adopted to a wonderful young couple and is the king of the house. |

"Adopting Gizmo was the best thing we did. It has been good for all of us.
I didn't know anything about Rescue Groups. I just knew I wanted a dog in our lives, and did not want to ' buy ' one from a breeder or pet store. I wanted to rescue a dog. That's when I found Joan and Jim.
I didn't know what to expect when we got him (Gizmo). Gizmo fit right in with us in no time at all. We travel and it turns out he is a good traveler. He is my companion, my baby, my little buddy, my friend. ..... Everyone loves him. He has Grandparents that think the world of him. They love to babysit. I would recommend a rescue dog for anyone. They know when they are loved unconditionally. He loves all of us right back." |
